Zermatt lies at the foot of the Matterhorn. The town's touristic development is closely linked to what is most probably the world's most famous mountain. The vacation destination is a car-free zone, has preserved its original character and offers nearly unlimited possibilities as far as excursions are concerned.

Constructed in first half of the 14th century as a part of the city's fortifications and named after St. Peter's Chapel, which is located nearby. The paintings that were added in the 17th century illustrate scenes of Swiss and local history, including the biographies of the city's patron saints, St. Leodegar and St. Maurice.

The majestic Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau summits, together with close-up views of the longest glacial flow. The Jungfrau railway travels from the heart of the mountains to Europe’s highest lying mountain station at 3454 meter altitude.

The resort Engadin St. Moritz is situated on the southern side of the Swiss Alps, at 1,800 meters above sea level, on the "Roof of Europe". The incomparable harmony of its lake scenery has made the Engadin known throughout the world as the "festival hall of the Alps".

Lake Lucerne (434 m above sea level) is fascinating due to its picturesque landscape and historical sites. 20 boats - 5 of which are nostalgic paddle-steamers - enable you to take round trips and offer endless possibilities for excursions which can also be combined with mountain railways along the lake. Five magnicently restored, over one hundred year old paddle steamers are the pride of the Lake Lucerne fleet.

France and Austria both have their particular strengths, but in many respects Switzerland is hard to beat. It has an unfair share of the most dramatic mountain scenery, and ditto the most captivating traffic-free old mountain villages, the best mountain restaurants, and some of the most impressive ski runs.

All of a sudden, there are no more snow-covered roofs and winding roads. Suddenly you’re in the midst of a winter wonderland of mountains, hills and valleys as you’ve never seen them before. It’s all a matter of perspective. There they are! Enticing white slopes of powder snow lie before you under a deep blue sky. Who wouldn’t feel a sense of thrill? Even if Europe's highest mountain is over the border, Switzerland does have the largest concentration of summits over 4,000 meters in Europe and a proliferation of climbs - rock, ice, mixed, bouldering or scrambling.

The Château de Chillon (Chillon Castle) is an island castle located on Lake Geneva (Lac Léman), south of Veytaux in the canton of Vaud. It is situated at the eastern end of the lake, on the narrow shore between Montreux and Villeneuve, which gives access to the Alpine valley of the Rhone. Chillon is amongst the most visited castles in Switzerland and Europe.

Lake Como has been a popular retreat for aristocrats and wealthy people since Roman times, and a very popular tourist attraction with many artistic and cultural gems. Lake Como is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful lakes in Europe.

The town is situated along the Alsatian Wine Route and considers itself to be the "capital of Alsatian wine" (capitale des vins d'Alsace). The city is renowned for its well preserved old town, its numerous architectural landmarks and its museums, among which is the Unterlinden Museum with the Isenheim Altarpiece.

The romantic castle with its impressive medieval keep and picturesque turret is situated on the shores of the beautiful Lake of Thun. Strolling through the various historic rooms of our museum, you get a vivid impression of noble Bernese lifestyle from the 16th to 19th century. You enter the elegant summer hall, the neogothic dining hall, and see amazing looking weapons in the armoury.

The principal Swiss wine growing regions are Geneva, Vaud, Valais, Grisons and Ticino, and the national languages of French, German, Italian and Romanche reflect the wine traditions and the selection of grapes that are grown.

Being famous as a traditional cheese producing country, Switzerland is home for the best regions providing world famous quality cheeses. The cheese tradition in the country has been handed down through generations, contributing to the appearance of the most delicious cheeses on the world.

With its 72 thundering waterfalls, secluded valleys, colourful alpine meadows and lonely mountain inns, the Lauterbrunnen Valley is one of the biggest nature conservation areas in Switzerland.

The conventional, American breed known as Brown Swiss is actually quite different from the original Schwyzer Braunvieh cattle bred in Switzerland around the end of the 17th and 18th centuries. The first cows and bulls of the breed that became later known as Brown Swiss were imported from Switzerland into the United States by Henry M. Clark in the winter of 1869
